The FOCAS Research Institute is a one-stop, open access facility for microscopic and spectroscopic characterisation of materials and processes providing state of the art core laboratory support for a range of research groups and activities. The facility addresses the common needs of research activities in Science and Engineering, and is founded on established expertise within the University and aims to consolidate and develop this expertise, while nurturing developing research activities within TU Dublin.
KTI takes a national perspective on the knowledge transfer (KT) system in Ireland. KTI works with business, investors, universities, Institutes of Technology, State research organisations, research funders and government agencies to maximise State funded technology, ideas and expertise getting into the hands of business to drive innovation. KTI is located in Enterprise Ireland (EI) and funded by EI with co-financing from the Irish Universities Association (IUA).
CREST is the only dedicated surface coatings laboratory on the Island of Ireland. It serves the SMART economy by means of translating in-house fundamental knowledge from the bench-top to the market. The Centre has over sixty years of commercial surface coating experience and recruits and develops industrial development scientists with a product development background operating within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System to guarantee consistent and reliable project delivery.
